Eat, Drink, & Be Green

The 2012 fundraiser Eat Drink and Be Green once again was a fantastic celebration in the park. Friends, neighbors, and park supporters all gathered under the outdoor tented venue where they danced the night away. Highlights of the night included visits from both Mark Focht, First Deputy Commissioner Parks & Facilities and Councilman Kenyatta Johnson. In a short presentation to the crowd, Councilman Johnson thanked park supporters and showed his support of the park by contributing an additional $2,500 to FRSP for ongoing program activities. He was accompanied by his lovely wife Dawn. Both Kenyatta and Dawn are Philadelphia natives and avid park users.

Hope to see everyone again next year for Eat Drink and Be Green, a night of celebration for Schuylkill River Park.

Oh What a Night, 2nd Annual EDBG

Watch a video about the 2011 event. Many thanks to Video City Productions for providing this video.

FSRP’s Eat Drink and Be Green fundraiser built on last year’s momentum and was an outstanding event. One of the highlights of the evening was a visit from Philadelphia Mayor, Michael Nutter. “We were thrilled that Mayor Nutter was able to attend Eat Drink and Be Green. FRSP is very fortunate to have support from The City as both Susan Slawson, First Deputy Commissioner of Rec- reation and Programs and First Deputy Com- missioner Parks and Facilities, Mark Focht were also at the event,” remarked Lynne Hopper, President of FSRP.
